The circuit board layer generally uses copper foil as the conductive circuit. The conductivity of copper is very good, but the price of copper is also very expensive. In order to save some costs, some manufacturers make the copper foil thinner, so the conductivity is also affected. The price of the thermal and insulating layer varies greatly due to different materials. If you want to have very good thermal conductivity and insulation, you can use a special ceramic polymer, but this material is very expensive, and it is difficult for many manufacturers to accept it.
So they are looking for cheaper other materials to reduce costs, for example epoxy resin and glass cloth are commonly used. The aluminum base layer can be made of copper plate and aluminum plate. The heat dissipation effect of the copper plate is very good, and the cost will be very high. Therefore, aluminum plates are generally used to make aluminum substrates. The requirement is that the aluminum plates must have good heat conduction and cannot be easily bent.
In summary, the biggest natural enemy of LED is heat dissipation, so it must be a substrate with a relatively high heat dissipation coefficient, which conducts heat quickly and dissipates heat quickly. Aluminum substrate is good and heat dissipation is good; but the price of aluminum substrate is more expensive than fiberglass board, and LED lamps need enough Heat dissipation to ensure luminous efficiency.
