Where is the difference?

The reasons for the difference in product prices are nothing more than the following situations:

1. The first type is that the prices of UVC-LED products are different for different field applications. For example, disinfection boxes for masks and UVC-LED robots for sweeping have orders of magnitude difference. This type of price difference is easy to understand.


2. The second is that the prices of similar products are different. The price difference is related to the difference in [materials], quality and brand value. Here the focus can be on "materials" and quality.


The cost of chips using different wavelengths is different, and the price is determined to a certain extent. According to the current UVC-LED light source, the shorter the wavelength, the higher the manufacturing difficulty and the higher the cost, but the corresponding electro-optical conversion efficiency is also lower. Each company will weigh the considerations of wavelength, light efficiency and cost. At present, most manufacturers will choose chip products in the wavelength range of 260-280nm. Typical wavelength ranges are 265nm, 275nm and 280nm. In theory, 265nm is more destructive to cell molecular structure and has higher sterilization efficiency. However, because the electro-optical conversion efficiency is lower than that of longer wavelengths, there is no absolute winner for the current three wavelengths. At present, 275nm is mostly on the market. Prices in Japan and South Korea are slightly higher than domestic prices.


However, consumers also have to keep their eyes open, because the UVC-LED band is "invisible light", which means that it is difficult for users to feel its working status. Therefore, when designing products, terminal manufacturers will consider carrying a band around 405nm. (This band can emit faint purple light), which can help users perceive the working status. In this case, most of them are used to assist the left and right. The main sterilization wavelength is still 260-280nm; but at the same time, some non-mainstream manufacturers, It is possible to use 320-405nm to recharge indiscriminately, such as all UVA-LEDs are known as UVC-LEDs, or 30% UVC-LED doped with 70% UVA-LEDs. In this case, the manufacturer will not tell the truth and it is difficult to distinguish. Consumers can be identified from two aspects:

2. Whether there is a protective design. While UVC-LED has a killing effect on germs, it also has a destructive effect on organisms. For example, direct exposure for a short time can burn the eyes, and long-term and high-intensity exposure can damage the skin. Therefore, when selecting products, try to choose products with protective functions, such as sterilization bags that cannot work when the flip cover is opened, and the hand-held sterilization rod cannot work when the lamp bead is up.
