What problems should be paid attention to when LED is used in classroom lighting?

As a solid-state semiconductor light source, LED lamp beads have been continuously improved in light efficiency in recent years, and their prices have continued to decline. Compared with traditional light sources, LED lamp beads have many advantages such as small size, adjustable and controllable, long life, etc. LED lamp beads have received rapid development and widespread attention in many application fields such as classroom lighting. At present, public opinion has many concerns about blue light, but we cannot blindly deny it.

1. Blue light is an important component of white light, which not only plays an important role in ensuring color rendering, but also regulates the circadian rhythm. Outdoor sunlight can meet the function of synchronizing the human body's circadian rhythm (or biological clock), and the blue light exposure received indoors is far less than the dose received by outdoor activities. Blue light and cool white light sources can be used to establish a suitable light environment to help people obtain the required daily dose of blue light to ensure that their circadian rhythms are in harmony with their natural circadian rhythms.

On the other hand, the "blue light hazard" we usually hear refers to the fact that if the radiant brightness of the 400-500nm blue light band of the light source is too high, the eyes may cause photochemical damage to the retina after looking directly at the light source for a long time. The blue light problem is essentially the combined effect of radiance, blue light weighting function and time. From a spectral point of view, the proportion of blue light in the spectrum of LED lamp beads increases when the color temperature increases, but there is nothing special compared with the blue light in the spectrum of fluorescent lamps. , When the color temperature is the same, the upper limit of the blue light safety brightness of the LED lamp bead is similar to that of the fluorescent lamp.

There is a unified rating specification GB/T20145-2006/IEC62471 for blue light retinal hazards at home and abroad. The LED lamps for daily general lighting belong to class 0 or class 1 and belong to the safety category.

Today, we mainly discuss the issue of "Can LED light sources be used in classroom lighting at this stage", which is currently causing discussion and doubts in the society.

2. Under the background that the quality of lighting products has been paid more and more attention, and blue light hazards, stroboscopic and other issues have become social hotspots, do LED lamp beads pose a safety hazard to the vision health of children during development?

Regardless of whether it is an LED lamp bead or a traditional light source, the corresponding parameters should meet the requirements of the lighting standard for various indicators when used for classroom lighting.

Due to the development and popularization of LED lamp bead lighting products, it is necessary to standardize LED lamp beads for classroom lighting. At present, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) has released the "Technical Specification for Energy Conservation Certification of Classroom Lighting Products in Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens" in 2016. , the LED lamp bead product parameters have been further standardized, and other standards for LED classroom lighting have yet to be improved.

Whether there is a safety hazard in LED lamp beads At present, the luminous efficacy and lamp efficiency of white LED lamp beads for general lighting have surpassed traditional light sources, and can achieve high color rendering and high stability, which can meet the needs of intelligent lighting for dimming. The key to the use of LED lamp beads depends on whether the final lamp can meet the requirements of lighting indicators and related lighting devices.

Regarding the photobiological safety of LED lamp beads, you can refer to the white paper "General Lighting LED and Blue Light" jointly released by the International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance, the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance and the China Lighting Society in July 2013. The white paper clearly mentions that the correct use of qualified white LED lamp products for general lighting is completely safe for human eyes.

What should be paid attention to when using LED lamp beads in the classroom?

At present, the use of school classroom lighting LEDs has problems such as disordered brands, uneven quality, irregular market, lack of regular maintenance, and imperfect standards, but the problems cannot be attributed to the LED lamp beads themselves.

3. Classroom lighting should pay attention to the following issues when using LED products:

1. The selection of LED lamp beads should meet the standard requirements in terms of light color quality and other quality, including meeting safety level requirements, performance requirements, reliability requirements, environmental protection regulations, etc.;

2. The light source and lighting system should be used correctly, including the use of reasonable lighting design, correct installation method, regular inspection and maintenance, etc.;

3. All kinds of light sources and lighting system products should be tested for photobiological safety. Even if they are safe based on the standard and no additional warning signs are required, users should still avoid looking directly at these light sources for a long time. Especially at shorter distances.

Today, with the rapid development of LED lamp bead technology, LED lamps are gradually replacing the mainstream "rare earth tricolor fluorescent lamps" used in classroom lighting. Does the current national standard for classroom lighting allow and recommend the use of LED lamp beads?

Does the national standard allow the use of LED lamp beads in classrooms? The current effective classroom lighting standards include "Classroom Lighting and Lighting Hygiene Standards for Primary and Secondary Schools" (GB7793-2010), "Design Specifications for Primary and Secondary Schools" (GB50099-2011), "Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergarten Classrooms" Lighting Design Specifications (DB31/539-2011), Architectural Lighting Design Standards (GB50034-2013), and Technical Specifications for Energy-Saving Certification of Lighting Products in Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergarten Classrooms (CQC3155-2016) are all effective on the average and uniform illuminance of classrooms. Illumination, blackboard average illuminance and illuminance uniformity, uniform glare value, color rendering index, light source color temperature, lamp efficiency and power density and other indicators put forward requirements, these standards are applicable to various light sources.
