Imports, resources and environment are major issues of general concern to all countries in the world, and they have a profound impact on the sustainable development of human economy and society. Over the past 30 years of reform and reform, my country’s economy has developed rapidly, but the contradiction between energy resource shortage and environmental pollution has become increasingly prominent. Implementing the scientific concept of development, saving energy and reducing emissions, building a conservation-oriented society, and promoting sound, rapid and sustainable economic development have become the country’s current and future development strategies for a long period of time. The purpose of green lighting is to improve lighting quality, save resources, and protect the ecological environment to obtain significant economic, social and environmental benefits. The implementation of green lighting is an important measure to build a conservation-oriented society.
(1) Implementing green lighting is a major energy saving plan
my country’s electricity consumption for lighting accounts for roughly 13% of the country’s total power generation, and currently it has reached more than 300 billion KW/h per year, which is about the total power generation of the three Three Gorges power stations, and it continues to grow. According to statistics, from 1996 to 2005, the national green lighting project has saved 59 billion KW/h. According to the implementation plan of China's green lighting project, a total of 103.3 billion KW/h of electricity will be saved from 2001 to 2010, and lighting energy saving will be achieved by 10%.
(2) Implement environmental protection plans for green lighting
Everyone knows that electricity is generated through power plants, and then long-distance transmission through transmission lines to reach users. For users, electricity is regarded as a clean energy source and is widely used in people’s production and life; in fact, electricity is a secondary energy source, which must consume primary energy (coal, oil, natural gas, water power, nuclear energy, etc.). Thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power and other methods can only be obtained. In my country, the installed capacity of thermal power generation accounts for about 75% of the total installed capacity, and coal is mainly used as raw material for power generation. In this way, a large amount of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and dust will be generated during the power generation process, causing serious acid rain pollution and dust pollution in our country.
Through green lighting projects, saving lighting power consumption can correspondingly reduce the emission of pollutants in the power generation process. The use of a new high-efficiency light source can also reduce the mercury content in the lamp tube, reduce the emission of toxic substances from broken and waste lighting products to the environment, and also achieve the purpose of environmental protection. Implementing green lighting and suppressing light pollution can protect people's living environment, protect animals and plants, and protect the ecological environment.
(3) The implementation of green lighting is a big plan to improve the quality of lighting
Human beings live under natural light for a long time, and the human eyes have good adaptability to natural light. The visual sensitivity under natural light conditions is higher than artificial light by more than 5%-20%. Implementing green lighting, making full use of natural light, and using high-efficiency and high-quality lighting electrical products are conducive to constructing a comfortable and safe light environment, and improving the quality of people's work and life.
