How to choose the color temperature of household LED lights?

Dec 14, 2021

Among the existing light sources, the color temperature of candlelight is about 2000K, and that of incandescent lamps is 2700-3000K. The morning sun is about 4400K, and it rises to 5600K at noon. It is ideal for people to use light at different times of the day to conform to the laws of nature. However, LED lights on the market now generally have a high color temperature, which will interfere with the body clock.

Human immunity. At present, the ideal light source is OLED, with a color temperature of 3000-4000K, but OLED has not yet been fully promoted to the market. But when choosing a desk lamp, try to choose a product with a color temperature of 3000-4000K, and try not to exceed 4000K. Color rendering is an important indicator of lighting quality. In indoor lighting, many standards require the color rendering index to be above 80. The color rendering index of sunlight is 100. The closest color rendering index to sunlight is the incandescent lamp. The second is OLED light source (>90), the color rendering index of LED is generally around 70-80, but some companies can make LED light source color rendering index above 95 through technical means.

Therefore, in order to improve the clarity of the job and the fidelity of colors, and relieve the pressure on the eyes, the higher the color rendering index, the better. For daily use, Ra is best not less than 80; if you want to draw under the lamp, color matching and other things that have high color requirements, it is recommended to buy a table lamp with a color rendering index of at least 90. For the problem of light source glare and uniformity, it is recommended that you choose a diffuse flat light source (OLED) instead of a point light source with a strong beam. If the light is relatively uniform, there will be no glare, and it can also relieve visual fatigue.
