What is the hazard of the strobe of lighting fixtures?
What I want to talk about is "stroboscopic" and "flicker". That is, the short-term flicker index of lamps and the two indexes of stroboscopic visibility, these two indexes are very important in the functional parameters of lamps, especially desk lamps.
The short-term flicker index (Pst) refers to an index that evaluates flicker in a relatively short specified time interval at low frequencies (within 80 Hz). Stroboscopic visibility refers to an indicator of the visibility threshold of the stroboscopic effect calculated by light waves under high frequency (between 80-2000 Hz).

The short-term flicker index (Pst) and the stroboscopic effect visualization parameter (SVM) are as small as possible. According to NEMA 77-2017, the short-term flicker index (Pst) must be less than 1, and the stroboscopic effect visualization parameter (SVM) must be less than 1.6.
The flickering of lighting fixtures will have many adverse effects:
◼ Photosensitive epilepsy or seizure induced by flashing light;
◼ Migraine or severe headache is often accompanied by nausea, visual disturbance and physical problems;
◼ Increase repetitive behaviors of people with autism;
◼ Eye fatigue, fatigue, blurred vision and other visual weakness, as well as traditional headaches and decreased ability in visual-related functions.
Therefore, when buying LED lights, you should choose a lamp with no flicker or no video flicker, so that the damage to the eyes will be much less, and it will be healthier.
