How to repair the broken LED light? Learn to do it yourself, simple LED faults can be repaired by yourself.
LED lamps are different from the previous incandescent lamps. When the incandescent lamp is broken, the tungsten filament is basically burned out. It cannot be repaired and can only be replaced. LED lights are different. LED lights are composed of LED drive circuits and LED lamp beads. Most of the burned LED lights can be repaired, but the price of LED lights is not high, usually around 10~20 dollars. One point is a few dozen, so no one specializes in repairing LED lights. If the price is high, others are unwilling to repair it. If the price is low, the labor cost is too low to be worthwhile. Generally, users can only repair it by themselves.
As a general user, how to repair LED lights? There are many reasons for the failure of LED lights, but some of the failures are relatively simple, and users can try to repair them by themselves as a practice.
Common faults and maintenance methods of LED lights
1. The LED lamp bead is damaged. This is a very common fault. Generally, when the LED lamp bead burns out, there will be black spots on the surface, which can be distinguished by careful observation. For this kind of fault maintenance, a soldering iron is required, and the burned lamp bead is removed and replaced. But, what if there is no LED lamp beads? A resistance of about 150Ω can be used instead, if it is driven by a constant current source, it can be directly short-circuited.
2. The filter capacitor is invalid. Simple LED lights generally rectify the AC power directly after stepping down through a capacitive resistor, and then supply power to the LED lamp beads through capacitor filtering. If the filter capacitor fails, the voltage will be unstable and the DC voltage will be low, which will make the LED light dim. Use the capacitance file of a multimeter to measure the capacity of the filter capacitor. If the error is large, and the error is greater than 30%, it means that the capacitor has deteriorated. Just find a capacitor with withstand voltage and capacity greater than or equal to the capacitor parameters.
3. The capacitive resistance step-down module is damaged. The capacitive resistance step-down module is composed of a capacitor and a resistor in parallel. Use a multimeter to measure whether the capacitance or resistance is damaged. If it is damaged, find a capacitor or resistance with equivalent parameters to replace it.
4. The line is disconnected. Disassemble the LED light and check whether there is any disconnection at the internal input and output wiring. If so, use an electric soldering iron to solder and fix it.
5. The rectifier diode is faulty. The rectifier diode has faults such as open circuit and short circuit, which may be caused by overvoltage and overcurrent, or it may be caused by long-term use failure. Just find a rectifier diode with a reverse withstand voltage greater than 350V and a working current greater than 0.5A, such as 1N4004~1N4007, etc.
6. The LED constant current drive circuit is faulty. For this kind of failure, it is necessary to have a professional experience in electronics to repair. For general users, after the above simple failure can not find the cause, it is better to replace with a new LED light.
