What is eutectic welding for the LED?

May 21, 2021

The vacuum soldering system is a process welding furnace for high-end products, such as laser devices, aerospace, electric vehicles and other industries. Many high-end devices, in order to improve the welding quality and reliability of the products, mostly use gold-tin solder, gold-germanium or gold-silicon solder, and the cost is very high.

The cost of the device itself is high, and the requirements for soldering will be very high. Poor welding will directly cause the cost to continue to increase. For enterprises, in addition to choosing professional suppliers and choosing good quality soldering lugs and gold-plated materials, the most fundamental way is to choose a highly reliable vacuum eutectic furnace.

What is eutectic?

Let's start with the concept of eutectic. The two fixed-component alloys, when melted into the liquid state, directly crystallize into two solid solutions with different components, which is called eutectic reaction.

In this concept, the concept of alloy is first involved. What is an alloy? To be precise, an alloy is a mixture of two or more chemical substances with metallic characteristics. For example, aluminum alloy, magnesium aluminum alloy and so on. There are many places where alloys are used in our daily lives, such as metal materials for house decoration, kitchen utensils for kitchens, and car frames. Alloys can be pure, not pure mixtures.

Next, what is the liquid phase, and what is the solid phase relative to the liquid phase? Let's put it this way, the chemical name of the water we often drink is H2O, its liquid phase is water, and its solid phase is ice. Therefore, a substance has a solid phase and a liquid phase. Such as carbon dioxide and dry ice, steel and molten steel, etc.

Finally, what is a solid solution? A substance that does not affect the entire crystal structure of ion exchange or new ion filling is called solid solution. Two or more materials melt and the metal ions mix with each other, which is welding.
