In response to the Omi Keron mutant, SL, Bionics and ATMOS have taken action。
The recently discovered new mutant virus "Omicron (Omicron mutant strain)" has caused worldwide concern about the spread and speed of transmission. Some experts predict that the propagation speed of Omicron will be more than five times that of the delta variant. In addition, according to the first case of infection in Hong Kong, the possibility of the two infected persons being spread not through droplets, but through the air, also proved the fact that there was no contact between the two infected persons.
On the 2nd, SL Bionics announced that it has completed the joint development of a sterilization mask with its US partner ATMOS using its self-developed "UVC-LED technology". It is currently applying for U.S. safety certification and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Approval.

According to SL Bionics, the UVC-LED mask has been proven to have a 99.99% sterilization effect. By disinfecting the air inside the mask and preventing the inflow of viruses, airborne infections are minimized. Therefore, it is expected to effectively prevent infections such as viruses floating in the air and Omicron which is currently spreading.

At the same time, GMKJ LED learned that SL Bionics recently increased the purpose of bio-related investment business at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, and acquired 10.5 billion won of convertible bonds from its affiliate Nexton Bioscience. According to SL Bionics, “In the future, we will enter the medical market and expand military and general-purpose masks to ensure market competitiveness.”
