Application of deep UVC LED
With its many advantages, deep UV LED products are gradually recognized in the market, and have been initially used in water treatment, air sterilization, food preservation and other fields.
1) Disinfection and purification of water treatment
1. Static water exposure
According to the formula: the irradiation dose (mj/cm2) = irradiation time (s) * deep ultraviolet radiation intensity (mw/cm2), it can be seen that the sterilization efficiency of ultraviolet rays is related to the ultraviolet radiation dose received by bacteria. In static water irradiation, there are two ways to improve the sterilization efficiency of deep UV LED: 1) improving the irradiation time; 2) improving the intensity of deep UV LED irradiation. Under the condition of constant light power of deep UV LED, the germicidal rate can be improved by prolonging the irradiation time. When the sterilization time is fixed, the higher the input current of the deep UV LED, the higher the light power, the greater the radiation energy, the greater the amount of ultraviolet radiation the bacteria receive, so the higher the sterilization rate. At the same time, for the deep UV LED with a certain input current, the longer the irradiation time, it can also increase the total radiation energy. The larger the total irradiation received by bacteria, the higher the sterilization rate.
2. Dynamic water exposure
For dynamic water sterilization, the irradiation time of deep UV LED is determined by the water flow during the dynamic water irradiation. Under the condition of certain intensity of deep ultraviolet, the larger the water flow, the less the irradiation time, the lower the irradiation dose the bacteria receive, the worse the germicidal effect. The reason is that the faster the water flow is, the less time the bacteria receive the deep ultraviolet radiation, which leads to the low dose of the bacteria receiving the deep ultraviolet rays, so the sterilization efficiency is reduced.
(2) Air purification
As a new generation of green light source, the deep UV LED provides an effective solution for air purification with its unique safety and economic advantages. The deep UV LED air sterilization and disinfection system can also be used in any equipment that needs fresh and fresh air, such as air purifier, refrigerator, etc. The natural decay rate of bacteria in refrigerator without deep UV LED sterilization module is 30%, while that of refrigerator with deep UV LED sterilization module reaches 85%.
