The differences between EMC bracket and PCT bracket in LED are as follows:
1. The main materials are different
The main material of the EMC bracket in the LED is epoxy resin, which is a thermosetting material; while the PCT bracket is a thermoplastic material, which is a high-temperature-resistant, semi-crystalline thermoplastic.
2. Different liquidity
PCT has poor fluidity and can only be used as an extrusion grade, which is relatively brittle; while EMC has strong fluidity and is used for MAP packaging, which has higher efficiency, and its air tightness, high temperature aging resistance, and UV attenuation resistance are higher.
3. Different high temperature resistance
Its high temperature resistance and UV resistance are quite different. PCT can currently achieve 0.8W, while EMC can achieve 3W. PCT brackets are generally used for small and medium power LED packages, usually not exceeding 1W. Commonly used models are 2835, 3030, and 3036.
Conlusions:
The main material of the EMC bracket is epoxy resin, which is a thermosetting material. PCT is a thermoplastic material.
Due to the large difference in high temperature resistance and UV resistance, PCT should only be able to achieve 0.8W at present while EMC can achieve 3W .
PCT The liquidity is a little bit poor, and it can only be used for extrusion grade at present, which is relatively brittle; EMC is better for MAP packaging efficiency.
In terms of price, PCT is much cheaper, not much different from PPA. EMC is relatively expensive.
