On October 21, the National "Thirteenth Five-Year" Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition opened in Beijing Exhibition Hall. The unmanned plant factory rice breeding accelerator developed by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences appeared in the exhibition hall.

In the agricultural and rural exhibition area, there is a very eye-catching "rainbow" small house. The small houses are layered, each floor has red, blue, green, purple...different colors of light. Under the colorful light, there are rice seedlings of different heights. There is also a busy little robot moving these seedlings left and right.
This is an unmanned plant factory rice breeding accelerator developed by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. "We use a combination of multi-light quality LED light sources to provide different spectral formulas at different stages of rice growth, so that they can grow faster and better." Yang Qichang, a researcher at the Institute of Urban Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, introduced to China Science News. Through the precise matching of light, nutrition, temperature, etc., this "accelerator" shortens the rice growth cycle from 120 days to 60 days, and at the same time, the output is improved and the quality is guaranteed, providing valuable technical reserves for future plant factories to produce food.
PS:The Institute of Urban Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Metropolitan Institute) is a national agricultural scientific research unit approved by the Office of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It is an important support institution of the National Chengdu Agricultural Science and Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the National Chengdu Center). The role of the Metropolitan Institute is of great significance. It is the in-depth implementation of the General Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Jinping’s statement that "The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences must face the frontiers of world agricultural science and technology, face the major needs of the country, face the main battlefield of modern agriculture, and accelerate the construction of world-class disciplines and first-class scientific research. The important guiding spirit of the "Institute" is an important deployment based on Chengdu, layout in the southwest, connecting the "Belt and Road" and implementing the rural revitalization strategy. It is also an important deployment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs to promote the construction of Chengdu "Chengdu National Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology Innovation Center". The Metropolitan Institute will focus on the cutting-edge exploration and application transformation of urban agriculture in response to the current major national scientific and technological needs of urban agriculture, and actively participate in the main battlefield of modern urban agriculture construction.
It is reported that this exhibition will be open to the public for free from October 21st and will close on October 27th. The exhibition highlights a number of major achievements China has made in the fields of basic frontiers, strategic high-tech, and social and people's livelihoods during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. The total area of the exhibition area is 21,834 square meters, with 1,740 exhibition items, 1,347 physical objects, 277 models, 933 exhibition panels, and 383 videos on display.
These dazzling arrays of exhibits, in the most intuitive way, show the unremitting efforts and outstanding contributions of Chinese scientific and technological workers facing the frontiers of science and technology in the world, facing the main economic battlefield, facing the major needs of the country, and facing the lives and health of the people.
