Manufacturing method of LED chip that produces amber light

In order to obtain amber light in the early days, amber LED (light emitting diode) chips were generally used directly to generate amber light. The amber LED chip is made of aluminum gallium indium phosphorous (AlGaInP) crystal. Because this kind of chip does not require phosphor coverage, it is called "direct emission amber LED chip." Amber LED chips made of aluminum gallium indium phosphor crystals have two shortcomings: one is that as the temperature of the heat sink (the temperature of the diode node) increases, the luminous flux of the LED decreases significantly; the other shortcoming is that the operating current reaches a certain value and continues When it increases, the luminous flux no longer increases, and even decreases slightly.
In contrast, blue LED chips made of aluminum gallium nitride (AlGaN) crystals do not have the above two problems. When the temperature of the heat sink increases, the luminous flux of the blue LED chip is almost unaffected; when the operating current increases, the luminous flux also continues to increase. The above difference between aluminum gallium indium phosphorus crystal and aluminum gallium nitride crystal allows us to imagine another scheme for generating amber light, that is, using a blue LED chip made of aluminum gallium nitride crystal as a light pump and covering the LED chip with specific phosphors. (Phosphor) produces amber light.
Regarding the choice of phosphors, some companies currently choose silicate phosphors, such as (Sr,Ba,Ca)3SiO5:Eu2+. The biggest problem with this phosphor is its high sensitivity to high-temperature and high-humidity environments. Under hydrolysis, the luminous efficiency of silicate phosphors is significantly reduced. This will make the final color seriously deviate from the amber range of the target color, and it is impossible to obtain amber light with high purity and high saturation.
