Phototherapy is a method that uses electromagnetic radiation to produce light of different wavelengths to treat skin diseases [1]. Ultraviolet light therapy equipment was originally PUVA equipment. In 1974, Parrish et al. [2] scientists reported that oral administration of psoralen (Psoralen) and long-wave ultraviolet radiation can cure psoriasis. The fly in the ointment is that in order to achieve a good therapeutic effect, the auxiliary drug-psoralen must be used, and the side effects of PUVA therapy are relatively large, which are manifested in the problems of easy skin burns and high risk of carcinogenesis during the treatment process. In 1981, Parrish [3] and other scientists showed that the 295-313 nm of the medium-wave ultraviolet was the most effective band, and the UVB below 295 nm had almost no anti-disease activity, and the ultraviolet light greater than 313 nm had carcinogenic risk. These limitations promote the clinical use of Narrowband UVB, and it has been proven that 310-313 nm is also the safest band. The emergence of NB UVB therapy solves the problem of the need to use psoralen and other photosensitive compounds. Patients can choose whether to use psoralen, which improves the treatment effect and saves treatment costs. At present, the instruments used to treat skin diseases in hospitals include NB UVB ultraviolet light therapy equipment and 308 nm excimer laser therapy equipment. The latter is the treatment of skin diseases by pulsed light waves generated by the inert gas xenon chloride. Clinical studies have shown that a single 308 nm wavelength has a better therapeutic effect. However, due to problems such as high price and large size, it is not suitable for portable home use. As for whether the LED peak wavelength around 308 nm has a better effect, it remains to be studied.
