Types of LED components
According to the different packages, light-emitting surfaces and characteristics of LEDs, LEDs can be roughly divided into the following types:
1 Plug-in LED
As shown in the figure below, what needs to be pointed out is: In addition to the common 2-leg monochromatic LED, the plug-in LED also includes 3-pin bi-color LED, in addition to 4-pin RGB full-color LED.
2 SMD LED
As shown in the figure below, usually SMD LEDs are divided into packages such as 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, etc. The colors are single color, double color and RGB full color.
3 High power LED
As shown in the figure below, this kind of LED is usually used for lighting purposes, and most of them are white-emitting LEDs with a power of several watts or more.
4 LED digital tube
As shown in the figure below, by making multiple LEDs into various fields to form characteristic letters or combinations, it can display 0-9 or m-shaped (English characters can be displayed) or bar-segment type to indicate progress or proportion.
5 LED dot matrix screen
As shown in the figure below (as shown, the LEDs are formed into a matrix, which can display Chinese and English letters. For example, the manufacturer’s LED display is composed of these dot matrix screen modules. According to the color, it can be single color, double color or RGB full color.
6 "Smart" LED
As shown in the figure (9) below, this type of LED not only contains the LED wick, but also has a built-in control circuit IC, which can realize specific functions, such as flashing Flash or bus addressing to control the color of each point, etc., the representative model is such as : WS2812, WS2811 and so on.
7 Special LED
As shown in the figure below, this LED is special because it can emit light that is invisible to human eyes, such as infrared rays, ultraviolet rays, and so on. In daily life, the remote control we use is this kind of LED light.
