What factors are related to the improvement of COB LED source color rendering (CRI) index?
COB plane light source color rendering (CRI) refers to the actual color of the object illuminated by the COB surface light source. Color rendering index (RA) is the color rendering ability of a light source to an object. At present, the most commonly used method to improve the color rendering index of COB plane light sources is to add red powder. The choice of red powder is related to the light efficiency and stability of the COB plane light source. Red powder is divided into nitride and silicate, it is recommended to use nitride red powder (red powder such as Intemei, Toyoda Gosei, Desheng, etc. is a better choice).
After the COB plane light source is added with nitride red powder, the color rendering index will increase, but the color will deviate and the light effect will be reduced. The brightness and the display index cannot be increased at the same time. The key to increasing the color rendering index of the COB plane light source is to widen the broad band of the red powder excitation spectrum, which tends to the long wave direction, but the brightness will naturally decrease. As far as the current COB packaging technology is concerned, it can generally achieve 80~90, and the warm white light will be 5~8 LM lower. If the CRI is higher than 90, the light intensity and brightness will obviously decrease.
