In the application process of high-power LED products and devices, heat dissipation, electrostatic protection and welding have a great impact on their characteristics, which need to be paid attention to by customers.
Heat sink
Due to the limitations of semiconductor light-emitting diode chip technology, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of LEDs needs to be improved, especially high-power LEDs. Due to its high power, more than 60% of the electrical energy will be released as heat energy (with the development of semiconductor technology, the photoelectric conversion efficiency will gradually increase), which requires huge work for end-customer applications.
1. Radiator requirements.
Appearance and material: If the sealing requirements of the finished product are not high, it can be directly convected with the outside air. A finned aluminum or copper heat sink is recommended.

2. Effective heat dissipation area:
For 1W high-power LED white light (other colors are basically the same), the recommended heat sink has an effective heat dissipation area greater than 50-60 square centimeters. For 3W products, it is recommended that the total surface area of the heat sink is greater than 150 square centimeters, and the power view and test results are improved, and the temperature of the heat sink is not greater than 60.
3. Connection method:
When the high-power LED substrate is connected with the heat sink, please ensure that the two contact surfaces are smooth and in good contact. In order to enhance the bonding degree of the two contact surfaces, it is recommended to apply a layer of thermal conductive silicone grease (the thermal conductivity of silicone oil is greater than 3.0W/m K) on the surface of the LED substrate or heat sink and heat it. The conductivity of the silicone grease should be applied evenly and evenly, then the screw should be compressed and secured.
