Regarding the advantages of Mini LED and the current progress of the company's Mini LED business, Jucan Optoelectronics pointed out that Mini LED has stronger advantages in terms of color and picture detail. On the premise of meeting basic standards, the company's Mini LED products further require product performance to improve product competitiveness. Part of the production expansion plan of the company's fundraising projects is related to Mini LED. At present, the overall production capacity release of Mini LED is proceeding in an orderly manner.
It is understood that in 2020, Jucan Optoelectronics will raise 950 million yuan for the expansion and upgrade project of high-efficiency LED chips. This project mainly develops and produces Mini/Micro LED, automotive lighting, high-power LED and other products. In May 2021, Jucan Optoelectronics continued to increase its capital by RMB 500 million to Jucan Suqian, the main body of the project, in order to speed up the construction progress of the project.
In addition, Jucan Optoelectronics introduced the content and progress of the joint research project with the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Jucan Optoelectronics stated that the direction of the joint research project is to study nitride optoelectronics and integration technologies for the field of optical communication, and to develop high-performance and high-power nitride light-emitting and detection devices.
Among them, the "R&D and industrialization of high-bandwidth, high-efficiency GaN-based optical communication and display chips" project is a key scientific research project of the joint research. The target products are GaN-based LEDs for high-bandwidth, high-efficiency lighting and communication composites for visible light communication.
