Suntron Launches Four Major Micro LED Display Products, Targeting AR/VR/vehicle And Other Fields

Aiming at new business opportunities, Suntron launches four major Micro LED displays


According to the visit of LEDinside, Taichuang displayed four Micro LED display products at this exhibition, including 37-inch FHD modular Micro LED display, 1.58-inch PM Micro LED display, 11.6-inch automotive Micro LED display, and 7.56-inch Micro LED displays are aimed at business opportunities in emerging applications such as vehicle display and AR/VR.


The 37-inch Micro LED display is seamlessly spliced by 48 modules, with a pitch of 0.43mm, a resolution of 1920x1080, and a pixel density of 59PPI.

The 1.58-inch PM Micro LED display adopts a passive drive scheme, with a pitch of 0.111mm, a resolution of 256x256, a pixel density of 228PPI, and a color depth of 24 bits. It can be used in smart wearable devices such as AR.

The 7.56-inch Micro LED display has a pitch of 0.222mm, supports HDR high dynamic range, a resolution of 720x480, and a pixel density of 114PPI.

The 11.6-inch Micro LED display for automotive is the result of joint research and development by Taichuang and Tianma, with a pitch of 0.111mm, a resolution of 2480x960, and a pixel density of 228PPI.

As a partner of Sunchuang, Tianma has also released four new Micro LED display products recently, showing the four characteristics of splicing, transparency, flexibility and rigidity, including 5.04-inch Micro LED splicing display and 9.38-inch transparent Micro LED display , 7.56-inch flexible Micro LED display, 11.6-inch rigid Micro LED display.

Among them, the 11.6-inch rigid Micro LED display has a resolution of 2470x960, a pixel density of 228PPI, and uses LTPS TFT drive technology. According to the product parameters announced by Tianma, this Micro LED product should be the 11.6-inch Micro LED display for cars exhibited by Sunchuang this time.


Tianma claims that this product is the world's first high-resolution mid-size Micro LED display, which can match the display requirements of high-end automotive central control or instrumentation, that is, screen size>10 inches, PPI>200.


Betting on Micro LED, Yunchuang intends to break through the IPO next year


In recent years, Suntron has continued to increase its investment and deployment in the Micro LED field. This can be seen from the speed of new product development and release and the improvement of technical level.


In order to better seize the business opportunities of Micro LED, especially the development opportunities in the AR/VR field detonated by the meta-universe concept, Techuang plans to go public next year and is expected to become the first pure Micro LED concept stock.


Regarding the business opportunities of Meta Universe, Chen Chuang believes that the application of Micro LED in AR/MR and other wearable devices requires the complementarity of the overall ecosystem such as content, optics and other supporting equipment. It is expected that more Micro LED AR can be seen within two to three years at the earliest. /MR products are moving towards industrialization opportunities.


In addition, based on the optimistic outlook of Micro LED, Lite-On has recently increased its capital by 5 million U.S. dollars. If it succeeds in listing next year, Sunchuang’s financing capabilities and financial strength will be greatly enhanced, which will help it accelerate the process of commercialization and cost reduction of Micro LED products.


Whether it is AR/VR, car or large-size display, from the perspective of the entire Micro LED application ecology, Chen Chuang believes that cost and commercialization are the two key points, and predicts that the cost of Micro LED will drop by 95% from 2020 to 2025. .
